Animal Clinic is pleased to now offer
veterinary care for “pocket pets” such as ferrets, rabbits, and
rodents; including guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, chinchillas,
rats, and mice. We also offer limited veterinary services for avian
and reptile species. A large part of caring for these species has to
do with their

animal husbandry refers to the methods that are used in
meeting the needs of domestic animals as related to food,
water, entertainment and company, companionship, exercise,
and protection.

appropriate diet, and that their owners understand their natural
behaviors patterns.
For example, ferrets are strict carnivores and require a diet higher in protein and fat and very low in carbohydrates and fiber. Each species also has their own common diseases that require veterinary care, and we recommend annual physical exams to check for early signs of problems.
